Today I have some simple gradient chevrons to share with you! I wanted to do something easy but something that still looked like it took a lot of effort. I don't think I've ever done a gradient chevron pattern, but I could be wrong!
For this design I used this brand of nail vinyls (the normal website is down for maintenance) and then sponged a few pink polishes over the top of them to make the gradient. I used Hot Spring by Ulta3, Secret Story by Essie, and Fairy Floss by Ulta3.
I really like how these turned out, I probably could have done another coat but I was worried that would cause the polish to drag too much when I pulled the nail vinyls off.
Anyway, that's it for today because it's only simple and there's not much else to them!

Hello lovelies! If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen these nails and the inspiration behind them already as I posted about them on Friday and Saturday. But I had to do a full post on them anyway!
I went to a friend's engagement party on the weekend and I wore the dress below. I absolutely love this dress, which my best friend bought me last year for my 21st, and the nail art possibilities to go with it are endless! I didn't even know where to start, however I didn't have a lot of time on Saturday so I went with something very simple: a gradient.

For the first time in a verrrry long time, I didn't start with a white base. I went straight on with Revlon's Tulip (an amazing shade of pink that's very buildable). I wanted more of a subtle gradient as it appears on the dress so on the bigger, flat side of a triangle sponge I painted a small strip of the pink polish with a slightly bigger strip of My Boyfriend Scales Walls - OPI, a bright white, above it and then I gently sponged it on, making sure to blend the colours from about halfway up the nail. I think I only did one coat of the sponging as I didn't want it to be so strong and bold.
I'm not a massive fan of pink nail polish on myself, even though I buy it so often, but I think with the colour toned down it looks okay against my skin tone.

Today, my inspiration is my best friend. It's her 22nd birthday today so I chose to my nails for her! These nails are based on the dress she wore for her 21st last year and because she loves a bit of glitter.
The light pink is an unnamed brand that I've had forever and I used pink striping tape for the darker pink stripes as it was easier than using nail polish, especially considering that I was using the tape anyway for that. The glitter is Silver Gleam by Maybelline.
I wasn't sure how these would turn out but I'm very happy with them and I hope Tay is too! There's not much else to say about these nails because they were simple to do, so I'll be back with a new post in a few days! Have a good week everyone.
Today I have a quick post about some nails I did last night in about ten minutes. I've been working a fair bit lately and I do a lot of typing so I'm always aware of what my nails look like and the moments between importing a file and waiting for the computer to do it's thing, I always look at my nails, so I decided last night that I'd do a super quick mani so that when I worked today, I wasn't seeing bare, natural nails. (There's nothing wrong with natural nails, I just got sick of looking at my own).
The base colour is three coats of Kiss On The Chic by OPI, it's a lovely soft, very light pink that can be worn sheer or built up with three or more coats. I haven't tried it yet, but done right I think this polish could be used when doing a French Manicure. The white dots are My Boyfriend Scales Walls by OPI.
I was going to dot all my nails, but as a precaution I did the dots first on my ring finger and then my middle finger just incase it looked alright like that. And it did! So instead of doing all the nails, I just did those two as accents. I was worried doing all my nails would be too much, even though it is very simple.
Dots are always fun and quick and easy to do. And I got a few compliments at work for them, which is always nice. If you're just starting to love nail art and want to do it on yourself, dots are always a good start because you can use a range of things around the house to do them, such as the ends of bobby pins, toothpicks, an old paintbrush trimmed down, literally anything with a fine point or a rounded end can used.
For some reason, all I want to do lately is gradients. It might be because I have no other inspiration or just the fact that I've always loved gradients, but I just want to do as many gradients in as many colours as possible!
Today I painted three coats of My Boyfriend Scales Walls - O.P.I and then loaded up my sponge with Kiss on the Chic - O.P.I (barely noticeable but I didn't want it to be stark white) and Bubblegum Pink - Sally Hansen. I did a few coats on each nail to make it a bit more smooth and opaque.
It's a bit of a girly mani for me to be wearing. I'm not one to wear pink nail polish a lot or at all really. But I think this is pretty cute and simple.
