31DC2015: Day 19 - Galaxies

This is probably one of my favourite days of the whole challenge because I love me some galaxy nail art! I can definitely see myself improving over the years every time I do this prompt and this year is my best to date. I was extremely happy with how my nails turned out because I didn't hold back from using more colour and making it brighter than the past two years.

I used a bunch of polishes for this so I can't name them all (mostly because they've already been put back in their drawers).

And I only have one picture today because I started using a new camera and wasn't exactly sure what I was doing so I ended up with only one good picture but oh my god is it a good picture!

I was so damn in love with these nails! I still am, but I was so sad when I had to take them off for the next prompt. Hopefully now my photos will improve greatly!

31DC2014: Day 19 - Galaxies

Hello there! I was very excited for today's prompt because I love galaxies and I really enjoyed doing my galaxy design from last years challenge. This year I had a lot more choice as to what polish I would and therefore, I used quite a few! I'll do my best to list them in the order I used them.

Black Satin - Ulta3 (base)
Lily White - Ulta3 (sponged base)
Bahama Mama - Essie (purpley colour)
After School Boy Blazer - Essie (dark blue)
Solar Flare - Peita's Polish (this doesn't show up much in the picture but it's a light slightly holographic green; it's from a recent What's Indie Box that I'll be posting about next month)
Go Overboard - Essie (dark green)
Soft Hydrandea - Ulta3 (light blue that I used to lighten some areas without it being harsh white) 
Lunar Lights - Lilypad Lacquer (a light holographic silver polish also from the What's Indie Box)

I then placed some glitter from China Glaze's Snow Globe around the nails and then topped it with an unnamed glitter and then with Seche Vite.

I really like it, with most galaxy designs though, it's hard to capture every little colour and detail that has been sponged on. It definitely looks better in real life than in photos, but oh well, still looks pretty cool.

Galaxy Nails

Hello lovelies! Today I have a very quick post on some galaxy nails I did. I'm not too happy with them, but I enjoy them just the same as galaxy nails are always fun to do. I think my problem this time might have been that I accidentally put too much glitter on, I should have only put it in sections as it was a very packed glitter polish. But anyway, here they are!

I used a variety of polishes for this, but some barely show up so I won't bother listing them all. But the general colours are dark blue, dark green, dark purple and white with a black base.

These look very similar to a previous galaxy nails I did, but I think my older ones are much better, you can check them out here. I guess not every mani I do is going to turn out how I want it to, but it's good to post them and share my thoughts on them. Doing nail art is one big learning curve I've discovered. 31 Day Challenge: Day 19 - Galaxy

I am so incredibly excited to show you what I achieved! I've attempted galaxies before without great success and I knew it was because I didn't have a great range of colours, but a year later my collection is a lot bigger than it used to be so I knew today would be a breeze. 

I love everything about galaxy designs, I used to own the purple galaxy leggings from Black Milk Clothing before I sold them and I currently own the blue galaxy skirt from Black Milk. I love looking at pictures of galaxies too so I was always disappointed when I couldn't replicate them on my nails. But when I successfully did these nails I was massively excited and couldn't stop staring at them. I don't even want to take them off to do tomorrow's design!

I used a few colours to achieve this look:
Black Base: Onyx Rush - Maybelline Color Show (this has a slight shimmer to it so I thought it'd be a great base for galaxies).
The following colour were what I sponged:
My Boyfriend Scales Walls - O.P.I
Meteor - Savvy by DB (what a fitting name for a galaxy design)
Suzi Says Feng Shui - O.P.I
Señorita Rose-Alita - O.P.I

I then used MBSW to add a few star-like dots and then used an unnamed glitter and top coated it with Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri (which is my fave top coat).

I had a lot of fun doing this and I'm super happy with how it turned out. I was so glad I was successful. I definitely think I'll be doing this again with different colours. Tomorrow's prompt is watermarbling and I am a huge fan of watermarbling so I can't wait to pick some colours and go nuts!
