Hi everybody! Today I'm posting about a nail art idea that I had stuck in my head for weeks and finally got around to doing it today. It's nothing special at all, and as I was doing it I realised it wasn't working out the way I wanted it to in my head. But it's simple and still looks like great nail art anyway.
I used Snow Me White by Sinful Colors and Black Satin by Ulta3 on a thin, medium length striping brush. After doing the lines I went back in with some of the white polish on a smaller striping brush just to clean up some of the black and neaten the lines up.
I think this would look pretty cool with a colourful sponged base and white for the stripes, or even a rainbow pattern for the stripes on a white base, the combos are pretty much endless.

Hey everyone! Today's prompt is inspired by a song and I've kind of done my own interpretation of it. I had almost zero inspiration for what to do, so instead of looking at just songs, I looked at album covers and decided to recreate one of them. I went with something easy because I had to do it after work today. I chose the album Bloom by Beach House because it has a simple, classic album cover, plus I'm in love with the album and have been listening to it for a very long time.
I used Black Satin and Lily White by Ulta3. I think the middle finger is the best recreation of the cover as it really shows the size difference.

Hi everybody! Today's prompt is black and white. I have to admit I struggled a bit to come up with an idea, but I settled on something I haven't really done much of before, which has been a recurring theme for these past few days, but that's a good thing!
I had planned to place studs at the point of the triangle too, but they just didn't look right. For some reason I have a lot of trouble incorporating studs into designs, they're just not my thing!
I used two Ulta3 polishes for this, Lily White and Black Satin. My new favourite basics, and as someone who does A LOT of designs with a white base, I can never have enough white polishes that I love!

I think it looks funny on me, but we'll see if I can get away with using as little metallic polish as possible.
This week I was inspired by this skirt that I wore to a 21st on Friday night.
Following this tutorial that the lovely divalicious01 on Instagram linked me to, I was able to recreate the herringbone/chevron type pattern you see on the skirt. I'm going to be honest when I say that while the tutorial was super easy to follow and made it look like a breeze, I had a bit of trouble with it. I was getting really frustrated when the squares wouldn't match up or one was way too big compared to the others and that was only on my left hand. I'll also admit that I did throw a dotting tool or two onto my desk when it wasn't going quite as planned. I was making so much frustrated noise in fact that at one point my mum walked past my room and asked "Is it all going okay?" And because of all that, who can blame me when I decided I wasn't going to do the same on my right hand, because there was no way I'd be able to do that pattern with my left hand. I was very wrong though.
When I eventually calmed down and was sort-of-but-not-really happy with it, I did decide to try it again on my right hand. And it turned out waaaay better than my left one did, which I was both annoyed and happy about, but you win some, you lose some. This design definitely takes a lot of practice but I'm not sure I'll be doing it again anytime soon.
On my other nails, I painted them the other colours of the skirt, the blue is Royal - Revlon and the black is Black Out - Sally Hansen which was also used in the pattern, along with White On - Sally Hansen.
I've had this design on for a few days now (mostly because I've been too lazy to take it off) and I've come to the conclusion that I don't like it as much as I thought I did. I was never completely happy with it, but I was also very proud of it, especially my right hand and even if I don't like it, I am still very proud of it because I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something completely new and different and even though they're far from perfect, it'll be nice to look back on and know that I can do it.

Hello everyone! I'm officially back today with a very simple mani that's kind of a dedication to my dog who was put down recently. She was a black and white dog so I thought I would do a dotticure in the same colours. Dotticures are so easy to do, I use dotting tools I got off ebay for about three dollars, but you can even use bobby pins or anything with a rounded end.
The colours I used are of course my new favourite black and whites: Black Out and White On by Sally Hansen.
(Side note: I can't remember if I've mentioned it before, but I've been using this hand position lately instead of any other because it's my favourite. I think it suits my hands and nails more than the one I used to use and lately I just haven't liked any photos with the other position, so I hope everyone likes this one, because it's here to stay!)
That's pretty much it for today. This mani has definitely kick started my inspiration again and I'm really happy about it. Losing my dog quite suddenly was one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through and for so long I just didn't want to do anything nice for myself. I also worked a lot more than usual in the fortnight that it all happened so I was twice as distracted from everything else. But I'm back and no matter how many more times I might disappear I'll always come back because in the end I love doing my nails and showing everybody what I've created.
